SPACEBALL REVOLUTION AT THE NINTENDO WiiWare™ MEDIA SUMMIT.

Virtual Toys Madrid will be presenting their latest title Spaceball Revolution at the WiiWare™ Media Summit at the Nintendo Headquarters in Frankfurt on the 7th and 8th of April 2009.

Spaceball Revolution is packed full of innovate concepts that let players enjoy one of the most addictive experiences of recent years!

THE GAME

Fifteen devilishly challenging levels will test the player in making near-impossible patterns, with the help of space energy balls. Time and trajectory-blocking obstacles will become the players nemesis, testing their ability, dexterity and concentration to new limits.

The goal is to finish the different levels of the game, copying the shapes that are shown at the back of the screen. In order to copy the shown image, energy balls thrown by the Wii Remote, will activate or deactivate squares of the grid upon contact.

Time is crucial, and thats proven in this Virtual Toys game, because the player has a limited time to achieve each shape. After each successful shape, a new pattern is generated, making the challenge even more difficult.

Throughout the fifteen levels of the game, new obstacles appear. These include cubes, hoops, laser rays, asteroids, cylinders, pendulums and balls! Each obstacle has unique properties including static, mobile, invisible, destroyable and indestructible. The player has to remember every behavior pattern to evade the obstacles on each throw, ensuring there is maximum time to replicate each shape!

The challenge for the player is relentless and they can choose to play the game in two ways: challenge mode, with four different difficulty levels (easy to expert) or multiplayer mode, where two intrepid players challenge each other in a split-screen sabotaging frenzy!

As if the obstacles and enemies are not challenging enough, many special effects will make your journey to the end of the game even more difficult, with sudden spins of the world, auto-balls and cosmic cameras all out to disrupt the players aim!

WiiWare™ AND VIRTUAL TOYS

The release on November 2008 of Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam made Virtual Toys the first Spanish studio to publish a WiiWare™ title, a platform that permits the user to download a game directly to his Wii console trough the internet. With the WiiWare™ platform, videogames developers can offer new titles for Wii to the users without the need of the traditional videogames distribution model. This encourages a wide range of new game genres and innovate concepts to appear, with a very competitive price, which previously would have found difficulty in being published if and distributed in the competitive DVD distribution route

With more than 50 games published, Virtual Toys is one of the most experienced, independent Spanish games developers. Created in 1995, it has studios in Madrid, Barcelona and Castellón and has been awarded Best Game of the Year for Nintendo DS for HorseZ and Best Spanish Studio of the Year 2007 at the Gamelab, celebrated in Gijón last year. Virtual Toys creations for the Nintendo DS and Wii, such as Imagine Fashion Designer, Horsez and Imagine Pet Vet sagas, published and distributed by Ubisoft, have sold more than 5 million units worldwide.
